一、按書(shū)脊形式來(lái)分，有方形書(shū)脊和圓形書(shū)脊兩種。

2、圓形書(shū)脊，因前后書(shū)貼的地位略有不同，書(shū)貼的折疊處略呈半圓形，分布在一個(gè)弧面上，其厚度得到平衡。書(shū)芯的翻口處與書(shū)脊的凸圓形相適應(yīng)，呈凹圓形。所以較厚的圖書(shū)采用圓形書(shū)脊較好。圓脊書(shū)是經(jīng)過(guò)扒圓加工后背脊成圓弧形的，一般以書(shū)芯厚度為弦與圓弧對(duì)呈130°為宜。圓脊又可分為圓背無(wú)脊(只扒圓不起脊)和圓背有脊(扒圓起脊，起脊的高度一般與書(shū)殼的紙板厚度相同)兩種。

二、按用料分，可分為脊面同料和脊面異料兩種。
